The region is numbered among business leaders in Poland. The basis for the economic prosperity of Lower Silesia is a rapidly growing economy, focused on the close European cooperation. Special Economic Zones, investment support programs and a number of business support institutions also create an investor-friendly climate and encourage economic initiatives. Thanks to the excellent conditions for business, both traditional industries and new technologies develop in Lower Silesia. Lower Silesia owes its economic success to well-educated, dynamic and young society open to the world and its challenges as well as to the relatively low labour costs. A significant advantage of the region is its location – proximity to Germany and the Czech Republic, the main European transport routes running through the territory of the voivodeship, including one of Europe’s largest rivers – the Odra and the Wroclaw Airport, increasingly gaining in importance. The advantage of the region is also its natural resources as well as tourist and cultural attractiveness.
